Everything that contributes to the creation of a unique facade of an architectural artwork such as needs, temporal and spatial conditions, the overall existing situation, materials, techniques, geographical characteristics, and so on—comes together with a more important principle: the act of marking a design.
The Molavi curtain market in Tehran has long been considered an important market and a significant part of Tehran’s bazaar. Unfortunately, this part of the city has lacked proper organization. This situation prompted the consultant to design a simple yet magnificent form to signify this bustling market.

One of the main components of any building is its external form, which is rooted in the foundations of every society, including geographical, historical factors, beliefs, and traditions. In this form, the designer has aimed to create a simple and attractive shape that harmonizes these factors. By utilizing the semantic foundations of curtains as elements that serve the dual purpose of covering and moderating incoming light from outside to inside the space, a design has been conceived in which both its exterior and interior meanings are clear and evident.
This design consists of two cubic forms on either side, covered with a delicate, sheer fabric that envelops a large glass window like curtains at a window. On the other side of the glass frame, the movement and vibrancy of a dynamic and colorful shopping center are manifested. Walking through this space and experiencing its surprising ambiance is filled with mystery and cohesion. The simple interior design and sheer metallic elements on the wall opposite the central void extend from floor to ceiling, delighting the eye and inviting passersby inside while presenting them with a beautiful composition.
Furthermore, since colors play a significant role in creating an environment that is beautiful and suited to human needs, the use of cheerful and diverse colors in the nighttime lighting of this building will contribute to its identity and evoke memories for its future audiences.
